This is probably the only french singer I knew growing up. Now this is in the olden days when there was not digital television or the internet, so the only international artists we ever saw was on American programs (Ed Sullivan, Hollywood Palace, Johnny Carsen, etc.)
Charles Aznavour was one of the few international singers we were able to see on TV. But of course I was into the Beatles & Rock & Roll, so I didn't appreciate all this other wonderful music like I do today.
