"Le Million" is a film I watched last night which pleasantly surprised me. Directed by René Clair in 1931. Even though it is a sound film, there are a lot of touches from the silent era, with a feel of Charlie Chaplin & Buster Keaton throughout.
Plot:
A poor artist, who is in debt to many creditors, suddenly finds himself the winner of a million dollar lottery ticket. Unfortunately, the ticket is in his coat, which is stolen by a thief, sold to a fence, who sells it to an opera singer. Both the artist and his former friend, are both in pursuit of the jacket. Many slapstick moments make this a very funny & enjoyable film.
