Crêpe Day

On Feb. 2, La Chandeleur marks another religious feast modifying the preferred dessert served. Feb. 2 commemorates the day baby Jesus was presented to the Jewish temple by Mary, his mother. French tradition changes from serving les galettes to eating crepes. In fact, La Chandeleur, also called Fete de la Lumiere (Candlemas) is often called simply "crêpe day." In France, plenty of crepes are eaten and candles are blessed by the priest on La Chandeleur.
Legend says if you make a wish with a gold coin in your hand while flipping the crêpe over in the frying pan, your wish will come true.

Being that I love crêpes, this is one holiday I will enjoy.
